Ring House 2, 1931 Architect
Cecil Burgess was responsible for much of the design of the ten Ring
Houses. He won recognition for his work, which showed a variety of
architectural styles. The charming houses were typical of the
different kinds of architecture common in Edmonton at that time.
Over the years, the porches were enclosed for office
space. | |

The “Ring Houses,” four brick buildings located on the northwest
corner of campus, have a long and diverse history of use. In the
early years of the University, these homes were built to provide
housing for some of the University’s first faculty and staff. They
have also been offices, dormitories, music studios and research
facilities. |
